She has never trusted a potion that sits too still.
Perched atop an old embossed Dr. W. B. Caldwell’s Syrup Pepsin medicine bottle, this watchful crone keeps her brew sealed beneath a spill of black wax. When you shake her, the potion becomes a shifting green and gold—as though something inside has only just awakened.
One bright green eye watches the world sharply while the other has gone cloudy with age—or perhaps from having looked too long at something the rest of us were never meant to see.
Her hand-sculpted and hand-painted face is framed with pale curls, a weathered black hat, stitched textile details, and metal hoop earrings. Every line, uneven stitch, and found element gives her the feeling of a witch who has spent a lifetime knowing precisely which remedy—and which poison—the moment requires.
A one-of-a-kind original sculpture from The Thorn Garden.
